Really pleased to see images of the woven wire globes that we were commissioned to make for a entrance feature designed by DesignLMS. The globes were installed in the new Felix restaurant in Warley, which opens today.

'Today digital skillfulness is seen as the essential skill for an individual’s economic and social advancement. Innovations in design, farming and factory production coupled with access to a global labour force has removed the economic necessity to make our daily bread, mend our clothing, build our furniture or houses, and in the near future, even drive our cars. Whilst this is convenient and frees us from the drudgery of labour are we losing out in other ways by not getting our hands dirty? Join Fabrica Director, Liz Whitehead; artist, designer and maker Steven Follen; Samuel Wright from Build Brighton and student product designer Nuria Romero Juncosa to debate the merits of being able to make things for ourselves, if making skills have a future and what that future might look like.'
